GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 201G - 201GL - 201GLP
The 201G Series can perform multiple operations in a sequence, such as part pick up including movements in the mold area, then traversing out and stopping for degating the sprue, cutting or milling stations, End of Arm Tooling changes, loading inserts, etc.
The units are constructed using high quality, world class components for the PLC, motors, drives, valves and pneumatic cylinders.

The robots exchange control signals with the injection molding machine through the industry standard SPI or Euromap Interface.
Strip Stroke (X-AXIS) – This axis, running parallel to the centerline of the molding machine allows the robot to remove the parts off of the ejector pins. Its beam is manufactured out of aluminum extrusion, designed for strength and light weight. The axis runs on high precision linear bearings with hardened steel rails and recirculating ball bushings for high speed, accurate movements. It is powered by a high speed AC brushless servomotor complete with an incremental encoder for accurate positioning coupled to precision gearbox.
The axis is driven through a rack and pinion with helical teeth. These units have the strip stroke designed to extend rearward. This allows for a more balanced design resulting in longer component life. It also provides more flexibility by allowing larger parts to be easily accommodated because nothing is in front of the End of Arm Tooling mounting plate.
Vertical Stroke (Z-AXIS) – Designed for high speed motion to reduce in mold times, the vertical stroke is used to remove the product from between the mold halves. It is telescoping in design and composed of lightweight aluminum and steel tube construction with high precision linear bearings with hardened steel rails and recirculating ball bushings to maintain the accuracy and speed required for efficient part removal. It is mounted on ball-recirculating sliding blocks, capable of high speed and acceleration. Powered by a high speed, AC brushless servomotor with a precision gearbox, this axis also uses an incremental encoder for accurate positioning. Reliable operation can be attributed to the robust rack and pinion drive. In order to allow removal of large parts and to aide bearing life, the axis is mounted to the front of the Strip Stroke. This allows the unit to remove long parts without clearance issues.
Traverse Stroke (Y-AXIS) – The traverse axis (typically perpendicular to the injection molding machine) allows the unit to place finished parts or pick up inserts in multiple positions for the most efficient programming and conveyor usage. Designed using a structural steel beam for strength, the carriage runs on high precision linear bearings with hardened steel rails and recirculating ball bushings. A third high speed, AC brushless servomotor and gearbox together with an incremental encoder provides accurate positioning at high speeds.
The 90° rotation (C-AXIS) allows the parts to be rotated from vertical to horizontal for placement onto the conveyor or other downstream equipment. This axis is pneumatically driven on the standard unit and can be ordered with servo drive. In addition, this unit can be ordered with pneumatic or servo wrist and rotations for the ultimate in flexibility.
For reliable part removal, the robot is equipped with one venturi vacuum circuit complete with a vacuum sensor for part verification and one pneumatic grip circuit with a part verification input. This allows the choice of vacuum cups or pneumatic grippers for gripping and holding the molded part(s). Additional vacuum and grip circuits are easily added to the manifold to allow the tooling to pick or place multiple parts.
The Electrical cabinet, including the PLC, I/O for the robot, servo drives and other control components, is connected to the robot through cables housed in a reinforced tube.
